What Python is, where it's used, and how it runs.
What is Python?
Python is a high-level, interpreted language released by Guido van Rossum in 1991. It favours readability — you say more in fewer lines.
Where it's used
Data science & AI (NumPy, PyTorch), web backends (Django, FastAPI), automation and scripting, and teaching — it's often a first language.
Running Python
No compile step — the interpreter reads the file top to bottom.
python3 script.py # run a file
python3 # interactive REPL
