Lesson 3 / 28

Your First Page

Write an HTML file and open it in a browser.

Save & open

Save this as index.html, then double-click it — no server or compiler needed.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
  <meta charset="UTF-8">
  <title>Hello Page</title>
</head>
<body>
  <h1>Hello, World!</h1>
  <p>This is my first HTML page.</p>
</body>
</html>

What the browser does

The browser reads your HTML top to bottom, builds a tree of elements (the DOM), and paints it on screen.

View source

Right-click any page → View Page Source to see its raw HTML. Great for learning from real sites.
