Feature Branch Workflow

The everyday pattern most teams use for day-to-day changes.

One branch per change

Branch off main for each feature or fix, commit there, then open a pull request to review and merge it back — main stays always deployable.

In practice

The typical loop: branch, commit, push, open a PR, review, merge, delete the branch.

git switch -c feature/search-bar
# ...work, commit...
git push -u origin feature/search-bar
# open PR on GitHub/GitLab, get it reviewed & merged
git branch -d feature/search-bar
